Conditional Admission
The University of Cincinnati is proud to offer conditional admission to students who meet academic coursework requirements, but need English language training. Conditional admission enrollment is a two-step process.
All application materials must be submitted before the deadline date in order for an application to be reviewed. While UC International Admissions will work with applications submitted after the deadline, review for specific programs and start terms is not guaranteed.

Before You Apply: Program Offerings
Conditional Letters of Admission (CLAs) are limited to certain programs and terms. Before applying, be sure that your program is available.
In the following chart, "x" indicates programs that offer conditional admission.

How to Apply
Step 1: Apply Online for Conditional Admission
Attending university for the first time
Online Application
All undergraduate applicants must apply online. This includes the $100 application fee. Payments may be done by credit card (Visa, Master Card, or Discover), check or money order made payable to the University of Cincinnati.
Transcripts
We must receive official transcripts showing the current year’s subjects and the previous 3 years’ subjects. Transcripts should include a certified English translation, if needed.

Online Application

Transcripts
- Transferring from a university OUTSIDE the USA
- Course-by-course evaluations of all university transcripts by a member of the National Association of Credit Evaluators, such as World Education Services are required. Please have the evaluator send UC both the course-by-course evaluation and the original, official university transcripts.

- Transferring from a university INSIDE the USA
- Request your transcripts from your current university. Mail the sealed transcript to UC.
- Students with less than 30 semester credit hours (45 quarter credit hours)
- Original high school transcripts and proof of graduation (i.e. diploma or graduation certificate) are required in addition to university credentials.

Step 2: Apply to ELS, UC’s English Language Partner
For over 50 years ELS Language Centers (ELS) has helped hundreds of thousands of students from over 140 countries around the world learn English. The Cincinnati ELS Language Center is located directly on the University of Cincinnati’s Main Campus. Students receive weekly visits from UC Admissions to help students transition from ELS to UC.
