Transfer Students
Congratulations on your admission to the University of Cincinnati! As you prepare for your first semester on campus, please follow these steps to ensure a successful start to your college career.
To secure your spot at the University of Cincinnati, you will need to confirm your admission by the appropriate confirmation deadline.
Step 2: Receive Advising and Enroll in Classes
Fall Enrollment – Starts in March
Spring Enrollment – Starts in October
Summer Enrollment – Starts in February
Staff within your academic college will assist you with your advising needs. Once enrollment opens for your admitted term (see above), it typically takes 1-2 weeks after you confirm your offer of admission for your academic advisor information and link to schedule a meeting to show in your Bearcat Portal (under the Bearcat Bio tab).
Step 3: Orientation
Schedule in-person or virtual orientation on your Bearcat Portal if you’re starting Fall or Spring term. You’ll also receive an email regarding a Transfer Bearcats Canvas page. It has information from Orientation and will be a resource while you’re at UC (for all start terms).
*Lindner College of Business has mandatory orientation via Canvas (email with information is sent 1-2 weeks after confirmation). Registration for courses and academic advisor assignment occurs after orientation is complete.
Step 4: Housing and Parking
It’s optional for transfer students to live on campus. Check out these resources to learn more:

In addition to logging into your Bearcat Portal, you will also need to set up Duo Two-Factor Authentication. Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your online accounts and prevents anyone but you from logging in.
