Credit Evaluation

UC makes offers of admission to transfer students based on the GPA(s) on their college transcript(s). Then, a two-phase credit evaluation process takes place.

  1. The Credit Evaluation Center in the Office of Admissions matches transfer course credits to equivalent courses at UC.
  2. The college which offers the student's major determines how credits apply to the major.

For many courses, a credit evaluation decision is fairly quick, particularly for common general education courses.  The process may take longer for specialized courses such as Music, Art or Education.
